About Me

J. Porter joined the National Land Realty team of Land Professionals in September 2024, bringing over a decade of experience in the Mississippi real estate market. Before coming to National Land Realty, Jay received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and began investing and selling real estate. In 2007, Jay opened and operated JHP Enterprises which specialized in land, timber, and oil & gas investing, sales, and management. Since 2015, Jay has been a licensed real estate broker in Mississippi with expertise in recreational properties and hardwood timber tracts as well as mineral titles and oil & gas exploration. Jay grew up hunting deer and waterfowl in Mississippi with his father, a tradition he now shares with his son. When he’s not out hunting, Jay can be found spending time with his family, boating around on the Ross Barnett Reservoir, or enjoying a friendly game of poker. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, are based out of Madison, MS, where they live with their two children, Sarah Chase and Joseph, as well as their dog, Tucker.
