Work Smarter, Not Harder With REALTORS® Land Institute

February 16, 2018

Free time is a luxury that most people in the land industry don’t have and when, and if they do, they know they need to use it wisely. The land industry requires huge amounts of time, hard work, and the pressure to stay updated with the latest industry news, technologies, and trends available. How is anyone supposed to have time for it all?

The REALTORS® Land Institute helps land agents to work smarter, not harder. With a community of land experts, top-notch LANDU education courses and webinars, and unparalleled networking opportunities, RLI helps land real estate pros save time and resources so they can focus on what really matters – landing deals and helping your clients.

Building a client base can be exhausting. The REALTORS® Land Institute has a Find a Land Consultant search engine that is designed to allow anyone interested in purchasing or selling a property to search for land real estate agents in their area. This advanced search feature allows people to search by Service Specialties (such as 1031s, Asset Management and Buyer Representation) and Property Specialties (such as Commercial Land, Vineyards, and Agricultural/Farm Land), so your specialties will help you stand out. It’s a great way for new clients to find you as well as other RLI members looking to do referral business!

Have you been interested in getting the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation, but don’t have the time to do the courses? There’s a way to get all the courses you need in a short but packed nine-day period. LANDU Education Week is the perfect opportunity to complete all of the education requirements for the ALC Designation, which would usually take months or even years to complete, in just nine days. In 2018, six updated courses will be rolled out by RLI for their LANDU education program during this event. That means the most up to date information is included in these courses to keep land agents ahead of the curve. There is also a ‘Fast Track’ program that allows real estate professionals who hold other designations or have an education in land real estate to skip the three elective courses when working towards the designation.

If money is what is keeping you from getting the ALC Designation, there are also options to help with that. The REALTORS® Federal Credit Union, a Division of Northwest Federal Credit Union, has the financing you need to complete the required courses to receive the esteemed Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation through the REALTORS® Land Institute.

Also, for any veterans out there who recently left the military, the Military Transition Program (MTP) is a scholarship program designed to help former U.S. Military members earn their designation. The program waives the fees for a one-year membership and offers a complimentary LAND101 course and one elective LANDU course (valued at over $1,500). This is an excellent way for veterans to jump-start their post-military career.

In the field of land real estate, there are changes every day in technology, the market, and ways people stay connected. How is anyone supposed to keep up with it? One great way to do this is by attending the annual National Land Conference (NLC18) taking place this year in Nashville, TN, from March 12-14. This three-day conference is packed with events that will help you network with other land experts and learn from the best in the business.

It’s not easy being in the land real estate business. But using the tools and resources RLI has, can help you work smarter, not harder.
