We ARE the Land Industry: Thomas Krajewski

At NLR, We value the impact we make on the lives of others.

Thomas Krajewski, TN Land Broker

Thomas Krajewski lives life according to his personal mantra: “I believe that to truly excel in something, you have to live and breathe it, and that everything you do intertwines with the other aspects of your life. I work hard to blur the lines between work and play, personal and professional and time working versus not.”

A Knoxville native, Thomas spends a lot of his time outdoors and is involved in several organizations that make a significant impact in his community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for a group called Legacy Parks Foundation. “Legacy Parks works to ensure that our community enjoys exceptional recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that the assets exist for future generations,” he said. As board chair, Thomas is responsible for providing leadership to the organization, and sits on a number of committees including finance, marketing and a land conservation committee. He focuses on assisting with special projects that relate to land conservation, the creation of park space and the creation of access to the properties and projects they work on.

In addition to Legacy Parks, Thomas is also a recent founder and member of 100 Men Who Care Knoxville, an independent philanthropic organization. He is on the steering committee that organizes and facilitates the group and its meetings. “Our goal is to gather a group of at least 100 members of the community once a quarter to listen to three nonprofit pitches,” he said. “The group then votes on a winner and each member writes a $100 personal check. The collective impact is $10,000 raised in an hour, once a quarter. We strive to support charities and nonprofits that make Knoxville a better place to live.”

100 Men Who Care Knoxville was able to give The Change Center a $10,100 donation to make Knoxville a better place. The Change Center is a safe, strategically located, center-city partnership facility that provides relational, recreational, leadership development, and job initiatives for teens and young adults.

His active community involvement not only plays a big role in his personal life but also in his career. “I am the kind of individual that gets passionate about something and dive in head first. I have also worked hard to blur the lines between work and play, personal and professional and time working versus not. I believe that to truly excel in something, you have to live and breathe it, and that everything you do intertwines with the other aspects of your life. Being a part of these organizations is an excellent example of my mantra. I am an avid outdoorsman, dedicated land broker and a member of an amazing community called Knoxville. These groups help me to be better at each of those areas.”

Thomas is truly an example of our collective effort to positively impact each individual we come into contact with. When asking Thomas about company culture, he said:

“Culture is the result of peoples’ unspoken actions that people then speak about. It is based on values, morals, ethics and actions. To have a strong culture means that you have an underlying glue that the members of the community believe in, and follow not because they are told to, but because they want to. I think it’s a critical part of life, both personally and professionally.”

“One of the things I like most about our company is that we have a strong leadership that continually defines our company values, morals, ethics and actions. It is building a strong culture, and I share a lot of the same sentiments they do. I work hard and try to be the best in my field, but I also make room for family, faith and personal time. I feel the company exemplifies that attitude, and I appreciate being surrounded by these like-minded individuals.”

“My hope is that I am helpful, create success and I leave things better than they were when I found them; and perhaps some of my passion will leave some people inspired.”
