Tariffs’ Impact on American Ag Industry

“If tariffs are imposed and input prices increase while commodity prices decrease, it’s certainly going to affect land values. I would say it’s not going to be immediate, but when they do go into place, do not panic-sell. Call a professional who can come talk you through it,” recommended CEO of National Land Realty Ronnie Richardson during a recent conversation on RFD-TV regarding the impacts of tariffs on American farmers.

Richardson expanded on the ways that tariffs can influence input costs for things like fertilizers, fuel, and pesticides, as well as prices for exported commodities like crops. He also spoke about the effects of tariffs implemented during the 2016 Trump administration and what we can learn from those policies.
