NLR Spotlight: Lety Arnold, Copywriter
“I’m truly honored to be a part of this major innovation,” Lety said. “My experience writing for several local newspapers and magazines has prepared me for this role, and I am excited to see the exponential growth the team will create for National Land Realty.”
Lety Arnold is part of NLR’s new Creative Team that provides marketing support to over 165 agents in 18 states across the country. She serves as the sole editor of NLR’s This Is Your Land blog which has been recognized by the Realtors Land Insitute (RLI) as the number-one blog in the industry. Lety also lends her journalism experience to writing copy for several marketing elements for NLR agents and brokers that include postcards, press releases, and emails, among others.
She was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina and grew up speaking two languages at home. Her mom is originally from Mexico and her dad hails from a place just a few hours up the road in North Carolina. As a child, she was always around land, spending time visiting her dad’s pastures to help with feeding the cows or collecting chicken eggs.
Lety wrote for her high school and university newspaper. As a freshman in college, she was hired on as a staff writer for the University of South Carolina Upstate’s student newspaper, “The Carolinian.” Lety said she enjoyed being part of a diverse team that gave students a voice at the university. She served on the staff throughout her entire college career which led her to earn the role of editor-in-chief as a senior. During her last year on the staff, her team was able to successfully launch a daily updated website for the bi-monthly print version of the newspaper.
As a senior, Lety also had the opportunity of interning with a local lifestyle magazine in her hometown. And after graduating with a degree in communications, she continued to utilize her writing skills by working as a copywriter with a Groupon-owned retail website and other local newspapers in the area. Her beats for the newspaper included culture, craft beer, and nonprofits, among others.
When it comes to her role at NLR, her favorite thing about working at the company is the team culture. She said she feels surrounded by people who are always willing to help and make others better.
But when she’s not running the blog on the daily, Lety likes spending time with her husband, Preston, and two dogs, Cocoa (a toy poodle) and Buster (a lab/pointer mix). She loves a good Netflix show to binge watch and occasionally gets her tennis racket out to play a good rally with friends.
“We’re thrilled that Lety has joined our creative team to lead our copywriting. Lety’s experience has prepared her to provide expert communication to professionally define our team and services within our communities. Recruiting a talented journalist like Lety is a further validation of our new creative team strategy. She’s going to make a big difference in our industry,” said Ford Stokes, NLR CMO.
