New Covered Farm Vehicle Designation in Nebraska
DRIVERS OF A COVERED FARM VEHICLE IN NEBRASKA ARE NOW EXEMPT FROM COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
MAY 20th, 2016 — GRAND ISLAND, NE — Governor Pete Ricketts and Joe Schroeder of Nebraska Cattlemen announced a new designation releasing farmers and ranchers from CDL requirements.
Prior to this designation, farmers and ranchers were spending time, money and had to jump through several hoops to obtain a CDL so they could complete their every day work.
The new covered farm vehicle designation releases Nebraska farmers and ranchers from having to obtain a CDL and instead, they will be allowed to carry a one-page form with them in the vehicle along with the title of the vehicle.
For farmers and ranchers to obtain the one page form, it is as simple as going online, filling out the form, printing it off and keeping it in their vehicle with the registration.
The Ag Industry in one of the largest economic producers in Nebraska and this designation should help give the industry even more room to grow.
