National Land Summit 2022 Recap
Last month hundreds of National Land Realty professionals gathered in San Antonio, Texas, to participate in the company’s largest yearly event. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, National Land Realty decided to postpone their 2021 National Land Summit in favor of a virtual conference, making this year’s event all the more exciting! Over February 7th and 8th, National Land Realty’s professionals took part in educational seminars, presentations by guest speakers, and group discussions at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio.
The event began with a rousing welcome speech from National Land Realty’s President, Jason Burbage. After speaking to National Land Realty’s core values and the theme of the event, “Dominating the Unknown,” Burbage welcomed CEO Jason Walter to the stage to outline the journey that brought National Land Realty to the forefront of the land industry. He also spoke to the importance of finding success during these challenging times.
Following Walter’s speech, our professionals were treated to two technology-oriented presentations from Chief Technology Officer Tyler Van Meeteren and Technology Project Coordinator Jeff Phelps. Van Meeteren spoke to the power of technology in building relationships and effective teams, and Phelps gave our professionals a comprehensive look at how our Land Tour 360® technology can produce breathtaking listing photos. After Phelps’ presentation, Chief Marketing Officer Mac Christian took the stage to highlight the marketing team’s many achievements over the past year and explain where they are headed in the coming months.
The next portion of the event allowed attendees to participate in a group discussion with Burbage regarding effective means of attracting potential sellers and a variety of other topics related to the land industry.
Rounding out Day 1 of the National Land Summit was the welcome event at the famous Casa Rio on the riverwalk. The night was full of fantastic food, drinks, and conversation, all accented by the sweet sounds of Casa Rio’s spirited mariachi band! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Casa Rio for making this year’s welcome event a night to remember!
Day 2 kicked off with an extensive overview of tips and tricks for our land professionals and brokers in the form of the LAND Course presented by managing broker Ben Crosby, CCIM, ALC. After Crosby’s presentation, Ronnie Richardson took to the stage to discuss professional liability as land experts, and how land professionals can protect themselves against potential legal action.
Afterward, President of National Land LLC, Aaron Graham, and Business Development and Relationship Manager Kail Page spoke about a variety of lead-generating methods. Their presentation led into another large group discussion headed by Burbage about the immense power that fostering good relationships holds.
Next to the stage was Nathan Fabrick, Executive Vice President of our Commercial Division, to discuss effective methods of expanding commercial business. Fabrick’s presentation was then followed by another group discussion on how to overcome objections both in and outside of the land industry. Burbage then went on to speak to the power and importance of having a purpose in life, and the direction and stability that having a clear purpose can provide. To round off the second day of presentations, Truth in Nature took the stage to talk about their mission of providing fatherless boys with direction, purpose, and support through ministry. Truth in Nature was a Summit Sponsor for the 2022 National Land Summit and is an organization whose values and mission align with that of National Land Realty.
The second and final day of the National Land Summit was concluded by our annual silent auction and awards banquet dinner, which was sponsored by RCX Capital Group. There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs, but none were as enticing as the five-night vacation for two to the Westin La Paloma in sunny Tuscon, Arizona, offered by one of our Summit Sponsors, Truth in Nature. The winning bid for this fantastic prize was a whopping $10,000 from Dustin Weems, Land Broker from our Mabank Texas Office, and will be donated in full to Truth in Nature!
National Land Realty’s professionals ate, drank, and conversed to their hearts’ content before settling down for the award ceremony. At this year’s awards banquet, there were 25 individual awards given out, as well as a variety of others. As in prior years, the Rising Star, Impact, and Trailblazer awards all made a return, along with plenty of new ones! Congratulations to all of these fantastic award winners!
