National Land Realty Cares: June 2023 Volunteer Day

June 28, 2023

As part of NLR Cares, National Land Realty partnered with Harvest Hope to host a volunteer day for the internal staff of the Greenville, SC Headquarters. Harvest Hope’s mission is to provide for the needs of hungry individuals and families in South Carolina and to engage the community in the fight against hunger. The programs and services they offer consist of food distribution, a mobile food pantry, disaster response, kid’s cafes, and senior food boxes.

“Volunteering isn’t just giving time; it’s being a smiling face or open arms for someone in need,” explained Executive Assistant Olivia Sanders. “Sometimes, one simple act of kindness could be a turning point for someone or just a memorable moment.”

National Land Realty joined Harvest Hope on June 26th and 27th to volunteer and help out with quality control, checking donated food and beverage items, unpacking all donated items and sorting them into their respective places, and packing beverage bags with assorted drinks. When requested, a few volunteers were also able to step in to help outside with intake helping to sign those in who were there to pick up food.

“Volunteering has been something I’ve always done and appreciated, and finding a company that shares that same sentiment is truly invaluable,” expressed Liv Winstead, National Land Realty’s Digital Marketing Specialist, when reflecting on her experience volunteering with NLR. “While it may seem like a simple gesture, witnessing the impact of organizations like Harvest Hope within a single state among fifty gives hope that more individuals will unite in similar causes.”

Malinda Llewellyn, Director of Operations at National Land Realty, organized the two volunteer days for the company. “Volunteering with Harvest Hope is like joining a community where kindness grows abundantly, and together, we cultivate hope for those in need,” she stated about combining efforts with Harvest Hope to assist in feeding Greenville’s community.
