How Real Estate Agents Can Use LinkedIn
In this article of my social media help series, I’m going to be sharing a couple tips on good practices you can use to improve your LinkedIn skills. I’ll also be talking about how it differs from other social platforms. Here are three tips to help you use LinkedIn to your advantage:
1. Don’t connect with everyone. LinkedIn differs from other platforms in that is it a professional network. Don’t feel the need to friend everyone just because they ask. Use it to connect with people you would want to have a professional lunch with. That could be potential clients, other agents, attorneys, surveyors, etc.
2. Send invites with a personal message. When hoping to connect with someone, take a minute to write a personal note about why you hope to connect with them. Connections are more likely to be approved with a personal note.
3. As I mentioned in number 1, LinkedIn is a professional network. The content you share here will be different than that of other networks. LinkedIn is a great place to share your professional accomplishments. You should tell your connections when you made a big sale, when you did something extra to get a listing, when you are a top performer, or even when you worked with an amazing client or industry professional. Letting your network know about your success in an unassuming manner is good practice.
Using LinkedIn is a great resource for agents, so give it a try. Please feel free to reach out to me for any specific questions and good luck!
