Impact of SCOTUS Tariff Ruling on Ag Landowners
“With the tariffs being repealed by the Supreme Court, I think we’re still a long way off knowing where that will land. There will be a lot of negotiating back and forth, and the land market will see those trickle-down effects, but it’s probably not something we’ll see for another 6-8 months,” stated Jeramy Stephens during an interview on RFD-TV earlier this week.
Stephens went on to discuss the need for careful planning on the part of landowners this year as global trade disputes continue to put pressure on necessary inputs like fertilizer and fuel for ag producers. He noted that the ag land market remains resilient in the face of these challenges, and that current landowners looking to sell should focus on their local market and work with an agent with experience in their county.
