About Me
Joel Mitchell joined National Land Realty in March 2025 with over a decade of experience in real estate and a deep-rooted passion for open spaces and outdoor living.
When he isn’t assisting clients, Joel serves as a Captain flying 737 aircraft across the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America. Prior to his current role, he was a First Officer on the A330, flying long-haul routes to Europe and Asia. His aviation background also extends beyond the cockpit—he has consulted for an upstart airline, developed pilot recruitment programs, and participated in accident investigations while serving as an instructor for regional passenger and international cargo operations. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Science from Utah Valley University and continues to mentor aspiring pilots.
Joel's love for the land began during his childhood, trail riding horses through the woods of Tennessee and Kentucky. This early connection to nature fostered a lifelong appreciation for properties with open spaces, stocked ponds, and room to explore. Now based in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area north of Atlanta, Joel frequently operates throughout North Georgia and the Macon/Dublin region, helping clients navigate the selling process or find the perfect parcel to call their own.
A dedicated community member, Joel coaches youth hockey and has previously coached football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. He also volunteers his time mentoring the next generation of pilots. When he's not working, Joel enjoys playing in an adult hockey league, practicing permaculture, hiking, fishing, and paddleboarding. Joel lives with his two children, along with their two shepherd mixes, Bogie and Minka.
