About Me

With more than 35 years of experience in real estate and over 25 years specializing in land sales, Lud Hodges is an accomplished land agent in SC and NC. He helps clients buy and sell land in South Carolina and North Carolina, applying a deep background in engineering, commercial development, and asset management to every transaction.

Lud’s extensive career includes 23 years with Crescent Communities LLC as a Senior Development Manager and 5 years with Parkway Investments LLC as a Regional Development Manager. His work spans a wide range of projects, from high-rise office towers in central business districts to industrial, mixed-use, and suburban developments across the Carolinas. This development expertise allows him to recognize potential in every tract of land, whether it’s a commercial site, industrial parcel, or large acreage property ready for future use.

A graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Lud also holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Licensed Real Estate Broker in both North Carolina and South Carolina. His unique combination of technical, business, and real estate skills makes him especially effective in analyzing site potential, coordinating development projects, and guiding clients through complex land transactions.

Outside of work, Lud enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, and backpacking, and is actively involved with the Bartram Trail Conservancy and the Tryon Hounds Club in Tryon, NC. Lud lives in Tryon, NC, with his Irish Black Labrador Retriever, Johnny Cash, and is proud of his three adult children, Garrison, Parker, and George, and three granddaughters, Rollins, Rebecca, and Penny.
