About Me

A lifelong passion for coding led Doug from filling notebooks with handwritten code as a kid to building websites and applications professionally. His early career in sales and marketing, combined with the experience of running his own business, gave him a unique perspective on balancing technical challenges with strategic business goals.

Today, Doug's work is focused on product development and implementation. His approach is collaborative, focusing on rapid iteration, research, and data-driven decisions. He enjoys communicating complex topics to diverse audiences and is a frequent speaker at events and conferences on open-source projects.

Outside of work, Doug is serious about helping people in crisis. As a CERT-trained first responder, he frequently volunteers with Samaritan's Purse, a disaster relief organization. He has deployed to more than a dozen disaster sites, including the aftermath of tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and fires.
