Right Time to Sell Your Minnesota Land?
Are you still on the fence even though you need to sell? Afraid you missed the highs for land prices? Worried there are no buyers out there for your Minnesota land?
While you may have missed the highs in land prices that were noted in 2012 and 2013, average prices per acre for Minnesota ag land are still higher than prior to 2012 and 2013. Interest rates are still low. Lenders have money to lend. There are buyers looking for land, both expansion farmers and investors. How can I say this given all the media hype in regard to land?
I have been working with lenders and I am looking for land for several buyers. In addition, our RLI (REALTORS® Land Institute) Minnesota Chapter just had our quarterly conference call in April 2019. Our members cover the entire state and were on the call to share and discuss local market conditions. All agreed that quality land prices are remaining very stable or increasing (likewise with rents) and there is very little inventory to meet demand. It’s still a great time to sell your Minnesota land.
With this said, if you are still on the fence, but need or want to sell your Minnesota land, this may be the time to move off the fence!
