July 4th is North Carolina’s “Free Fishing Day”

July 1, 2016

In honoring of our great country’s independence, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has announced that July 4th is a free fishing day for anglers of all age! From 12:01 am until 11:59 pm, no fishing licenses are required! Conservation efforts are still in effect as fishing limits and size restrictions will continue to be enforced. This lift on fishing licenses applies to not only North Carolina Residents but non-residents alike. Also, no additional trout stamps are needed and this includes freshwater as well as saltwater.

Grab your tackle and safety equipment to have some family-friendly fishing on the day we recognize our freedom!
