Free App Improves Georgia Hunting
As turkey hunting season is underway in Georgia, hunters now have a downloadable tool to access essential information right at their fingertips. This app could have a great effect on Georgia hunting.
Launched just over a year ago by the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division, the Outdoors GA app offers several features that simplify and improve the hunting experience.
With the free app, hunters can access a copy of their license and quickly look at Georgia rules and regulations. They can also buy a license in the app and sign up for classes in the event calendar. Other features include information on local public fishing areas, boat ramps, and wildlife management areas, among many others.
The app also allows hunters to easily keep their required harvest records updated for the current season. With a newly added feature in a recent update, hunters can “check” harvested game even without cell phone service. This is helpful for those of us that enjoy getting out into the bush where cell phone reception can be spotty at best. Having this information readily available for those looking at Georgia hunting.
Whether you’re a hunter, fisherman, or outdoor enthusiast, the Outdoors GA app can certainly come in handy. So, make sure to take your time moving through the woods while hunting. Always cover decoys with solid or orange material to avoid being mistaken as a live turkey. Be safe this season and best of luck to all you hunters this spring!
The Outdoors GA app can be downloaded onto any mobile device through the Apple or Google Play store.
