As turkey hunting season is underway in Georgia, hunters can use a downloadable tool, the Outdoors GA App, to access essential information right at their fingertips.

Launched by the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division, the Outdoors GA app offers several features that simplify and improve the hunting experience.

With the free app, hunters can access a copy of their license and quickly look at Georgia rules and regulations. They can also buy a license in the app and sign up for classes in the event calendar. Other features include information on local public fishing areas, boat ramps and wildlife management areas, among many others.

The app also allows hunters to easily keep their required harvest record updated for the current season. With a newly added feature in a recent update, hunters can “check” harvest game even without cell phone service.

Whether you’re a hunter, fisher or outdoor enthusiast, this app can certainly come in handy. So, make sure to take your time moving through the woods while hunting. Always cover decoys with solid or orange material to avoid being mistaken as a live turkey. Be safe this season and best of luck to all you hunters this spring!
