John started his Real Estate career in 2003 when he and his father co-founded WaterField Ventures, LLC, where together they acquired recreational properties and developed land with an environmentally conscious approach. John was responsible for the acquisition and development of several new home communities on Alabama’s Lewis Smith Lake. His experience includes acquiring property, improving land, marketing, and selling property to investors, developers, and individuals.  

Since 2007, John has owned, improved, and operated over 2,000 acres of recreational property and farmland in Alabama’s Blackbelt. John is dedicated to the conservation and management of his family's land. He recently achieved a personal goal by earning the Alabama TREASURE Forest Award for his commitment to protecting land and representing good stewardship. John and his family have donated several conservation easements to the Alabama Land Trust, ensuring that the land will be protected for future generations. His unique knowledge has been earned by countless hours spent managing land & wildlife and searching for the best land & sporting properties for his clients.

John grew up on the Mobile Bay in Montrose, Alabama where he first learned about land stewardship and conservation. He studied at The University of Alabama and UAB and now resides in Birmingham with his wife Frances and 3 children. He is a devoted landowner and an avid outdoors-man whose interests include fishing, hunting, photography, history, and travel.
