Growing up, I was always around land. My dad owned several pastures with cattle, chickens, turkeys, and many other animals around the Upstate of South Carolina<\/a> and even into southern North Carolina. He often took me along when he had to go feed the cows, collect eggs or do some maintenance around the property. It quickly became one of my favorite activities to do with my dad after a long school day.<\/p>\n

However, as I got older and busier with school, sports and jobs I visited less frequently until I stopped going completely. It wasn\u2019t until I started my position as the National Land Realty copywriter that land became part of my life again.<\/p>\n

As the editor for our blog<\/a>, I create, edit and manage posts that talk about anything and everything related to land. So, to better understand the rapidly growing land brokerage industry, the National Land Realty Creative Team and I went on a \u201cfield trip\u201d to a property that one of our local agents was about to list.<\/p>\n

As we approached the tract mid-afternoon, all we could see for miles were hardwoods. So, I didn\u2019t think we would be seeing much on our walk through the property. Little did I know, I, and the traditional Millennial’s View of land, was so wrong!<\/p>\n

The agent guided us through the almost 30-acre property just as if we were clients interested in the tract. He educated us on everything on the property from the types of plants and trees we were seeing to the elements that made this property a great investment.<\/p>\n

On our journey, we discovered quite a few gems. The property had a beautiful open field, a bold creek and a home site, all surrounded by hardwoods that kept them pleasantly hidden. We were even able to spot a few native creatures that included lizards, turtles, and snakes.<\/p>\n

As a millennial, I haven\u2019t always thought about investing in something, especially land. However, after learning the many benefits of land ownership, investing in land is now something I am considering in the near future, and I imagine this is becoming the average Millennial’s View.<\/p>\n

The most important thing I\u2019ve learned so far is that land ownership isn\u2019t just for hunters and fishers anymore, it\u2019s for everyone. And there\u2019s absolutely no end to the list of things you can do on your own land. Properties with water can be the perfect spot for a getaway weekend with family or friends. You can enjoy the outdoors by fishing on your own pond or having a nice picnic by the creek. There\u2019s also the opportunity of building your own garden to cook your favorite recipe with fruits and vegetables you grew yourself!<\/p>\n

Whether you own 5 acres or 600 acres, you can take great pride in owning land. It\u2019s one of the great rights we have as Americans.<\/p>\n

In the future, I can\u2019t wait to take my own kids out on a pasture – just like my dad took me – to experience all the fun and rewarding things\u00a0land ownership can offer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
