{"id":89,"date":"2016-02-17T11:05:11","date_gmt":"2016-02-17T11:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalland.com\/blog\/?p=89"},"modified":"2022-11-23T11:35:12","modified_gmt":"2022-11-23T16:35:12","slug":"alabama-timberland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalland.com\/blog\/alabama-timberland\/","title":{"rendered":"Alabama Timberland Now Reaches Over 23 Million Acres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2014, <strong>Alabama timberland acreage<\/strong> increased from 22 million acres to an all-time high of 23 million, according to Service Forest Inventory &amp; Analysis (FIA) data from the <strong>U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat million acres of growth didn\u2019t just happen,\u201d said Greg Pate, Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC) state forester. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen a steady growth in Alabama\u2019s timberland in the past 15 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alabama\u2019s forests are the third largest in America, behind only <strong>Oregon and Georgia<\/strong>.
