The Neosho Wildlife Area in Southeast Kansas encompasses <strong>3,246 acres of land<\/strong> in the broad valley of the Neosho River, just east of St. Paul.\u00a0This includes <strong>1,748 acres of wetlands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The refuge is 57 years old and hasn\u2019t had any major improvements made since. But earlier this year, a renovation project was approved to renovate the land to enhance natural\u00a0habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>It sounds like the hunting for the 2016-2017 season will be impacted but the habitat enhancements\u00a0will prove to be great for the area in the long term.
