I have no buyers remorse and hope that continues even though at some point I\u2019m sure there will be some disappointment. But that goes with all new pups. I have always loved the Boykin Spaniel and finally got one of my own. He is my riding buddy and walking partner. He loves his stuffed duck and only gets a little too nosy every now and then.<\/p>\n<p>As with every purchase and in most every facet of life, careful planning and attention is critical. I am a bird hunting enthusiast\u2014especially ducks. (See <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalland.com\/blog\/off-season-tips-for-duck-hunting\/\">Off-Season Tips For Duck Hunting<\/a>.)\u00a0 \u201cStart-em-young\u201d is a saying that many people will recognize. I have done just that. Bedtime is just a saying as well and I don\u2019t believe he would agree with it.\u00a0 Kenneltime is more appropriate. No getting on furniture. But don\u2019t start to think he\u2019s not spoiled\u2026that\u2019s the furthest from the truth.<\/p>\n<p>At almost 9 weeks I am very happy with his progress. And hope that continues! A very smart pup learns from everything. I know he is \u201ctraining\u201d me just as much. And it&#8217;s this bond that is the absolute most important in a gun dog. The eagerness to please and desire for one more chance. Just five extra minutes of playing and one extra cuddle. A firm pop and \u201cNO\u201d to set him straight.
