Greenville, S.C. \u2013 <\/strong>May 16, 2019<\/strong> \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0National Land Realty<\/a> (NLR), a full-service real estate brokerage company headquartered in Greenville, SC, is pleased to announce that Pine Grove Plantation in South Carolina was recently sold by auction in partnership with J. P. King Auction Company<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pine Grove Plantation, located in Camden, S.C., is an almost 200-acre plantation and the birthplace of the S.C. state dog, the Boykin Spaniel. The property features a fully restored home, guest house, 9-acre stocked pond, 2 barns, a horse pasture, dove field, quail woods, managed loblolly pine woods, hardwood bottomland and a pecan orchard.<\/p>\n

Jason Burbage<\/a>, NLR vice president\/South Carolina managing broker, and Tyler Stone<\/a>, South Carolina land professional, worked together with NLR\u2019s exclusive auction partner, J. P. King Auction Company, to put Pine Grove Plantation for sale by auction on March 7, 2019. Over 40 people attended the event that included live music and food.<\/p>\n

\u201cProperties like Pine Grove Plantation can be very challenging to sell and the buyer pool for them is small,\u201d Burbage said. \u201cPrior to National Land Realty taking the listing, Pine Grove had been listed with 2 different traditional, residential brokerages. The sellers had reduced the asking price multiple times and were not open to dropping it any lower. Once we had the property listed, we recognized the opportunity to sell the property by auction and brought in our auction partner, J. P. King. After this shift in strategy, we created 12 property viewings over a 30-day period and successfully sold the property.\u201d<\/p>\n
