The pumpkin patches have opened, the apple picking has commenced, and the days are getting shorter.\u00a0Although it may still be warmer than usual in some parts of the country, the fall season is certainly in full swing. Get your family out\u00a0on\u00a0your land to celebrate it\u00a0with these\u00a08 fun activities!<\/p>\n

1. Take a walk
\n<\/strong>Take the family out on a nice, sunny morning for a walk through your property. You\u2019ll be surprised at how many things you\u2019ll be able to see now that the leaves have changed colors! See how many tree burls<\/a> you can spot. And don\u2019t forget to collect pinecones and leaves for the next activity!<\/p>\n

2. Make a scarecrow
\n<\/strong>Even if you don\u2019t have a cornfield or a sunflower crop that you need to make a scarecrow for, making these is still a lot of fun. Take the pinecones, leaves, and anything else you collected out on your walk with your family to craft a friendly (or spooky) scarecrow. You can watch the local wildlife approach it and see what kind of reactions they\u2019ll have!<\/p>\n

3. Take your Christmas card family photo
\n<\/strong>The fall season is the perfect time to take your family photo that you\u2019ll be sending out in your Christmas card later in the year. Go out on your property at the \u201cgolden hour\u201d – which is about an hour just before sunset – and get someone to take a photo of your family against some pretty fall foliage!<\/p>\n

4. Host a bonfire
\n<\/strong>What better way to bring in the fall season than hosting a bonfire on your own property? All you need is some wood, a couple lawn chairs, and some good stories for a fun-filled night.<\/p>\n

5. Watch a movie outside
\n<\/strong>First things first. Pick out a fun, fall-themed, family-friendly movie like \u201cIt\u2019s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown\u201d or \u201cBeetlejuice.\u201d Then, if you have a projector, set it up to cast on your garage door. You can even DIY your own outdoor movie screen<\/a> with a flat white sheet and some PVC pipes you have laying around!<\/p>\n

6. Go 4-wheeling
\n<\/strong>If you\u2019ve got large open fields on your property and you\u2019ve got a 4-wheeler, you\u2019ve got the perfect set up! Get your last rides in while it\u2019s still a little warm outside and before it starts getting dark earlier.<\/p>\n

7. Carve pumpkins
\n<\/strong>One of the most traditional fall activities, yet one of the most entertaining to do with your family! Once you\u2019re done carving crazy faces or your favorite NFL team\u2019s logo onto the pumpkins, take the seeds and pop them in the oven for an hour or two to roast for a good snack! You can also take that gooey mess and toss it into a compost to grow your own pumpkins for next year!<\/p>\n

8. Rake some leaves
\n<\/strong>Raking the leaves on your property doesn\u2019t have to be a chore. Get your family in on this activity by getting everyone to rake up leaves into a huge pile everyone can jump in and make leaf angels in!<\/p>\n
