The law would direct DNR to capture, neuter, tag and release 12 coyotes all across the state, in hopes that it would give hunters more incentive to shoot these non-native and nuisance animals the next time they see them while sitting in the deer stand, turkey blind, or anywhere else.\u00a0 It would almost be like buying a cheap education lottery ticket for the hunter; the price they would pay being the cost of the ammunition, the potential reward being one thousand dollars, and the guarantee being that they just helped save another deer fawn or wild turkey&#8217;s life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Coyotes are known to kill a large number of deer fawns each year and are partly to blame for the decrease in deer populations across the state.\u00a0 They are also known to prey on wild turkeys and many other animals that can be rather easy targets for them, including your pets. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img data-attachment-id=\"186\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/nationalland.com\/blog\/south-carolina-approves-coyote-bounty-program\/wil-e-coyote\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?fit=416%2C491&amp;ssl=1\" data-orig-size=\"416,491\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;1&quot;}\" data-image-title=\"Wil-e-coyote\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-medium-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?fit=254%2C300&amp;ssl=1\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?fit=416%2C491&amp;ssl=1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-186 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?resize=204%2C241&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Wil-e-coyote\" width=\"204\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?w=416&amp;ssl=1 416w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nationalland.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Wil-e-coyote.jpg?resize=254%2C300&amp;ssl=1 254w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><span class=\"s1\">This proposed program that was passed by the House has just recently been defeated by the Senate budget-writing <\/span><span class=\"s1\">panel.\u00a0 Although this does create an obstacle for the program, it&#8217;s still possible that it becomes a law, as it&#8217;s still in a standalone program that is outside of the Senate budget-writing panel&#8217;s reach.
