The whitetail in this part of southwest Texas are generally more heavily horned than typical Hill Country deer as result of generations of crossbreeding with nearby south Texas deer. Field dressed carcasses of whitetail commonly exceed 150 pounds. Exotic species include axis, sika and fallow deer, aoudad sheep, and the occasional blackbuck antelope and elk. Feral hogs are present, but not in overwhelming numbers. Exotics, hogs and predators allow year-round hunting enjoyment.
Neighbored by other large ranches which include a 14,000 acre place that is bow hunted only and an 11,000 acre family ranch that is primarily a cattle operation. The property is part of a 12,000 acre wildlife management association that maintains the roads, community water system the wildlife exemption for association members. 2018 property taxes were less than $200.00.
Water and electricity have been brought to the property line, allowing the new owner to have his camp or home easy for the season. Nine feeders, five blinds and several water troughs convey with the property. Approximately five miles of quality roads traverse the property, including one to the top of a 2,150' high hill that is the dominant geological feature of the ranch. Elevations range from 1,870' to 2,150'.
